FORMALIZED THE NEW PARTNERSHIP OF THE INCOMMON SPORTS PROJECT

With the invitation of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira, the University of Vigo, through the Faculty of Education Sciences and Sports, joins the consortium of partners of the European project 'In Common Sports'. The formal signing ceremony took place took place on the 27th of February in Pontevedra, Spain, with the partnership agreement signed by the Mayor of Vila Nova de Cerveira, Fernando Nogueira, and the vice-rector of the Campus of Pontevedra - University of Vigo, Jorge Soto.

The expansion of the program In Common Sports to Spain has been developing since last January, which allowed the participation of representatives of the University of Vigo at the 4th international meeting of the project that took place this month in Budapest. Taking into account the objectives of the project financed by the Erasmus + Sport Program, the Municipality of Sanxenxo was also invited to contribute, and although it officially does not form part of the consortium of partners, it will carry out various activities, namely training sessions and Intergenerational Olympics.

During the ceremony to formalize this partnership in Pontevedra, the Mayor of Vila Nova de Cerveira, Fernando Nogueira, stressed "the strengthening of ties with an institution as prestigious as the University of Vigo and the potential creation of new projects between the two institutions, with a view to more innovative responses for the citizen and the community ". After the signing of the document, a visit to the municipal swimming pools of Sanxenxo followed and a reception in the School of Tourism of Sanxenxo by the Mayor Telmo Martín.
